The LE68 Paravent is one of the lesser-known yet most historically significant pieces to emerge from Egon Eiermann's body of work. Designed as part of a comprehensive interior program for the Langer Eugen in Bonn, the high-rise building that once housed the offices of the West German Bundestag, the screen was conceived not as an afterthought but as an integral element of a unified architectural vision. Eiermann, who shaped both the building's exterior and its interiors, specified the paravent as a flexible spatial tool for the open-plan areas of the tower, used in various configurations to create zones within the collective spaces. The Langer Eugen, now a UNESCO building, stands as a landmark of postwar German modernism. Its original furnishing program brought together pieces by Knoll International and Herman Miller alongside Eiermann's own designs, reflecting a period in which architecture, interior, and furniture were understood as inseparable disciplines.
