Tasting Notes The Botanist is a unique limited edition gin produced on the island of Islay by Bruichladdich distillery. More well known for its excellent single malt whiskies The Botanist Gin can be seen as a far cry to Bruichladdichs other releases yet applies a similar focus on complexity and regionality as its island counterparts. Of the 31 different botanicals used in the production 22 are from Islay itself including the Juniper. These botanicals are added to a pot-still calledUgly Bettyand distilled in a process that takes around three times longer than the traditional gin production process. The resulting spirit is marked out by a seductive and complex fruit and spice character which is smooth mellow and pure. A great addition to the gin category that has very limited availability.
