Centuries ago Roman legions erected a temple to Mercury, god of commerce and travellers, in the Burgundian countryside. Fast forward to now and the temples long gone, but the name has stuckwith the Mercurey region famous for producing fine red and white wines. Louis Violland has roots in the mid-19th-century and the domaines winemaker, Marinette Garnier, produces bottles that reflect the clay and limestone terroir of the vineyards. This Chardonnay is strikingly complex and balanceda fantastic indication of her expertise. Discover fresh floral aromas and flavours of apple and peach, with a pleasant minerality on the finish. Its crisp and refreshing character makes it a wonderful match for shellfish.
