This soft greenish blue stems from the first discovery of a good blue pigment in the 18th Century, which was then lightened with white. It can be described as a Rococo blue, as nothing says French and Swedish interiors quite like this colour. Now a global phenomenon, Annie Sloan first developed the Chalk Paint® range (named for its velvety, ultra matt finish) in 1990 to create a versatile paint that would work beautifully on furniture without priming or sanding; that would be easy to use and quick to dry; and that could be used for a number of different paint techniques.
