A preview of the position of women globally in the 20th Century. According to Holtby the Twentieth Century Society was much concerned by the 'Woman problem'. She sets out to address this issue by examining the ways in which women have been treated over the past 4000 or so years in a number of different cultures. In conclusion she advocates treating 'individuals as individuals' in hope of achieving a fairer and more equitable society. The dust jacket is in poor condition but has been protected by a clear plastic cover. There are some pencil notation on the inside of the back board. The edges are somewhat foxed, but there are no torn pages or other damage.
