Vintage Coloured Agra ? on this dream island in the tropical Indian Ocean, we saw furniture made from old fishing boats for the first time. And with almost 4 million inhabitants on one island, there are a hell of a lot of fishing boats? These are traditionally painted in a wide variety of colours, colours that can be found again and again in Bali: colourful tropical blossom trees such as frangipani, bougainvillea or hibiscus, shades of green like the rice terraces of Ubud, blue like the sky, but also black like cooled lava from the abundant volcanoes. All these colours can be found in the furniture in this series. A skilful 'eye' is used to 'lay' the wood in such a way that it once again creates a harmonious picture. The combination of strong traces of use with the metal trimmed to look 'old' results in a special kind of 'factory design'.
