Snowdrops, with their graceful nodding blooms, signify the coming of spring each year. Create your own drifts of these native blooms with their understated elegance - they love to shelter in dappled shade at the base of trees and shrubs and will look equally at home in an alpine garden or naturalised in a lawn. Versatile and vigorous, they will quickly naturalise, multiplying to create a carpet of honey-scented, double-flowered blooms. They are also perfect for window boxes and containers as part of a mixed planting scheme. Height: 15cm (6"). Spread: 10cm (4"). Plant snowdrops in the dappled shade of deciduous trees. Snowdrop bulbs thrive in reliably moist, well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter. Add plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting to improve less than ideal soils. Plant bulbs at a depth of 10cm (4") and a distance of 10cm (4") apart.
