‘Bonomiana’ is a very exciting and classy variety of camellia due to its truly heart warmining displays of frilly pink streaky blooms, that contrast beautifully with fresh green foliage! You can be ‘wowed’ by the tremendous blooms from March through to the end of May, however you can still admire the evergreen foliage after the next flowering season. This low maintenance hardy shrub would be a fantastic addition to your garden garden! Camellia plants require a moist, well drained, acid soil in a sheltered, shaded position. In areas where acid soil does not naturally occur, grow Camellia plants in patio containers using a mix of ericaceous compost and John Innes No. 3 and position in dappled shade. Water regularly until plants are fully established. Where possible, use rainwater as the lime contained in tap water will reduce the acidity in the soil over time.
