Camassia Leichtlinii Caerulea produces tall regal spikes that rise above beautiful stap like foliage. This low maintenance bulbs originally from North America so is well suited to damp soils. Producing stunning bright blue camassia flowers that appear in the late spring to create a beautiful display. This variety is perfect for damp borders or naturalising in informal grassy meadows, or they make the perfect cut flowers to place in a vase for an indoor display. Height: 70cm (28”). Spread: 30cm (12”). Grow camassia in reliably moist, fertile soil in sun or semi shade. Avoid planting them in soil which becomes waterlogged over winter. If necessary, improve the soil prior to planting by adding plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost. Camassia quamash plants require little maintenance but will appreciate a dry mulch of chipped bark or leaf mould in late autumn to protect the bulbs from winter cold.
