The tomb of the Unknown Warrior remains a solemn tribute to all service personnel who have lost their lives in combat. The Unknown Warrior symbolises all those who were killed in battle (originally in World War I but since then in any war or conflict), whether lowly private or high-ranking officer. Nobody knows who he was, nobody knows his rank, his number, his regiment or his nameall that is known is that he was killed on a European Battlefield, but as to which one, even that isnt known.
