Among the regular bottlings that theyve made since 1692, Taylor's has released this limited-quantity collectors edition, showing off top-tier Tawny made in the eastern reaches of the Douro Valley. Individual wines were aged extensively in oak casks then blended to achieve a perfect balance of complexity, smoothness and density. Expect notes of rum and raisin, clove, nutmeg and black pepper plus stone-fruit flavours. Theres some zesty lemon and orange in there too, giving it a bright freshness. It's delicious on its own but would also pair well with nutty cheeses like Comté or aged Pecorino, or sweet desserts with figs and caramel.
