Four months after the release of their Taken by force album, the Scorpions arrived in Tokyo. They had four concerts on their schedule: one in Osaka, one in Nagoya, and two in Tokyo's Nakano Sun Plaza. These two shows were recorded for the live double album Tokyo Tapes which was also meant as a farewell present for Uli Roth who left the band afterwards.
