Belle is a fictional character that appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 30th animated feature picture Beauty and the Beast (1991). Belle is the nonconforming daughter of an inventor who longs to escape her normal village life in exchange for excitement in the original version of the film, and she is voiced by American actress and singer Paige O'Hara. During the Beast's captivity of her father, Belle offers him her freedom in exchange for her father's, and despite his horrible appearance, she grows to love the Beast.Dress-up play allows anybody, regardless of age or gender, to dream, hope, and use their creativity. Pretending allows children to be someone or something unique and distinctive that reflects their personalities and current interests, while also encouraging more independence by allowing them to practise self-care.
