Polvanera estate was founded in the 2002 by Filippo Cassano, ann oenologist with a grape growing family background. Within the estate, there is a ancient manor house, where charcoal used to be produced. The people working there used to be called Polvanera, because they were always covered by black dust, which is how the winery found their name. This wine comes from the vineyards of Masseria Scorace in the Crispiano area, located in the Southern part of Murgia, Apulia. The wineries in this area benefit from both its altitude and from Ionian sea influences. Soils here are iron rich with calcareous layers, where Negroamaro performs best. This wine is a great all rounder with delicate notes of rose, black cherry, blueberry and blood orange. Try it with olives, charcuterie or tomato pasta.
