Antifoam SB is an aqueous silicone emulsion and is designed to be effective in any aqueous system, particularly metalworking fluid emulsions and solutions. It is a white fluid which rapidly disperses into a diluted fluid and is easily applied in low doses. Applications Antifoam SB is recommended for use as a foam control agent in conventional soluble oil emulsions, semi-synthetic emulsions and in fully synthetic machining and grinding fluid solutions and emulsions. It should be used at concentrations of 5 to 50 ppm to improve the foaming characteristics of metalworking emulsions. Over application of Antifoam SB may make foaming (or air entrainment) worse. In situations where foam is a problem, we recommend that Technical Services is consulted for advice.
