Each basket is handmade by Berber women in the Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Originally designed to store bread (or khobz in Moroccan), the baskets are handwoven from coils of palm leaves, than wrapped in wool in fantastical geometric designs and simple linear stripes. Each basket is unique and specially selected. Since the baskets are handmade according to traditional craft practices and not necessarily made for retail purposes, they may have some imperfections, signs of use and age.
