In vitro anti-mycobacterial activity of selected medicinal plants : 9783659563522 : 02 Jul 2014 : This study provides information on the efficacy of Calpurnia aurea, Ocimum basilicum, Artemisia abyssinica, Croton macrostachyus, and Eucalyptus camaldulensis used by communities in Ethiopia to treat TB and/or respiratory disorders. Indeed, the study investigates the in vitro anti-mycobacterial activity of the plants Calpurnia aurea, Ocimum basilicum, Artemisia abyssinica, Croton macrostachyus, and Eucalyptus camaldulensis used to treat TB and/or respiratory symptoms on M. tuberculosis and M. bovis strains.The results of the investigation revealed that all of the study pants may contain pharmacologically active substances with promising antimycobacterial properties.
