This book, written by an American living in Japahn, published both in Great Britain and the United States, describes rail-roads from Nossi-Be to Huancavelica. It thus presents an international effort whose common denominator is the story of Flanged wheels and steel rails that exist far from home. Small Royal 8vo size, 9 line (mainly maps) and 166 halftone (black and white photograph) illustrations 1959 first publication. Missing it's paper cover, but retains its printed hard-board cover as shown, with title gold blocked on spine. Some slight stippling on top half front cover, and slight spotting on top half back cover, plus an inscription in the flyleaf in pen "T.G Roberts 1975" but otherwise Very Good condition.
