The new BEW712 planer from Black & Decker is a compact design with an ergonomic softgrip, anti-slip handle. With an 82mm width of cut and a maximum rebating depth of 11mm, the sole also has a built in V-groove for chamferring edges. The HSS blades are reversible so that when one side is worn out the blade can simply be flipped over to carry on using it. The BEW712 is a corded machine with a 710 watt motor and plugs into a standard UK mains socket. Included in the box is a dust bag (a vacuum cleaner can be connected directly to the dust port instead if required) and a hex key for swapping out the blade.
