A top-tier race shoe, especially for shorter distances and fast training runs. By Hoka standards, the Rocket X Trail has firm cushioning and a very good ground feel. Compared to other Hoka models, the stack height is quite moderate. The Rocket X Trail performs best on easy trails and gravel roads. On these surfaces, it rewards good running technique: the lightweight construction and the carbon plates rebound return some of the energy from landing back into toe-off.
