North Sea Men is a Danish film from 1939 that follows the lives of seal hunters in the polar region. Sigurd, who is the son of a hard-hearted, feared and hated consul, can not get the girl he loves - because her mother is a patchwork girl - so he takes as a blind passenger with "Little Kari" to Greenland's vestis. Here the ship sinks, and only Sigurd and another young man, Lorens, escape ashore. The two gradually get on each other's nerves so much in the desolate north that Sigurd kills Lorens in self-defense.
