Den Store Badedag takes place in the 1930's Copenhagen at a small working class family. The 7 years old Gustav Adolf has big respect for his father, Axel, and his great knowledge on the world's wonderful entireties. Svea, the mother of the family, dreams about the beach, but Axel thinks it is silly and dangerous. Axel changes his mind, and orders everyone in the property to the beach.
