This affects not only certified nurses, but also the patients and their family members. The presence of family members is a topic that has been discussed for several decades. However, there is little regulation on this. Caregivers expressed an increase in stress levels and fear of legal consequences. They described that the resuscitation situation could be traumatizing, shocking, and cause physical discomfort for family members.
