The BL1830 battery is fitted with the Makita Star Protection System, an inbuilt computer which communicates with compatible Makita Power Tools to monitor operating conditions. The Makita BL830 Lithium Ion Battery is only compatible with Makita Cordless Power Tools featuring a yellow connector plate, or a connector plate decorated with the Star Protection System symbol.
