Extravagant-looking PH Artichoke hanging light – a design icon This fantastic hanging light was first created in 1958 by the Danish designer Poul Henningsen for the Langelinie restaurant in Copenhagen, where it still hangs to this day. The unique shape of the body, which comprises 72 leaf-like elements and which distinguishes the PH Artichoke, is reminiscent of a sculpture. It doesn't matter which angle you view the PH Artichoke hanging light from, it always provides totally glare-free lighting. The PH Artichoke is still largely made by hand to this day to ensure a consistently high level of quality. With this light object, Poul Henningsen – who was always looking for new opportunities to transport glare-free lighting into rooms – created a true design icon, which is still well-known across the globe to this day.
