This Type B-10 flight jacket is reproduced by "Buzz Rickson's", based on the vintage jacket of "Rough Wear Clothing Co.". The Type B-10 is a fabric flight jacket adopted by the U.S. Army Air Forces in July 1943 as a replacement for leather flight jackets. It was designed for use in moderate temperatures ranging from +10C to -10C. During World War II, the U.S. military faced a severe leather shortage and reevaluated the sewing aspect and productivity, leading to the development of a flight jacket using mass-producible cotton twill fabric. The jacket featured an alpaca mohair wool pile lining, which was less bulky and lightweight compared to sheepskin while providing excellent insulation. In terms of appearance, the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy jointly developed the "AN" series, including AN6552 and AN-J-3A, for general-purpose use. However, the U.S. Army Air Forces did not fully adopt these models, and instead, they incorporated the design into the new cloth flight jacket, the B-10. * Ma
