Hobby Peat Blocks are placed as the bottom layer in the aquarium. They slightly acidify the water and counteract the formation of algae. The peat plates are an ideal root substrate, especially for Cryptocorynes. In terrariums the plates are used for keeping tropical frogs instead of substrate.
