Wild Bird Society of Japan

These gloves were made for the Wild Bird Society of Japan conservation charity. Designed with bird watching in mind these gloves can fit the purpose of almost any outdoor pursuit. For two of the colour designs the Wild Bird Society of Japan conducted a poll of bird lovers to choose representatives among the species it works to protect. The results were a purple bird of woodlands: the Japanese Paradise Flycatcher, and the endangered Yellow-breasted Bunting. The two colours in their honour are available alongside khaki and orange designs. Comfortable, the gloves have grip on their palm modelled on the skin of a gecko* (*the WBSJs interest in wildlife extends beyond birds), and allow the user to turn the page of their field guide even in the toughest conditions. The navy colour gloves in honour of the Barn Swallow typical of the Japanese summer. Subject to habitat loss, the WBSJ work to survey numbers of swallows in Japan as the first stage of a plan for their conservation. - Cott
