The Formakami JH3 suspension lamp is designed by Jaime Hayon, surprising paper lanterns. It is an ultra-light ceiling lamp made of rice paper, reminiscent of ancient Asian lanterns with a contemporary aesthetic. Paper lanterns are used in Asia by both the privileged and the poor, where different colors, shapes, and sizes connote different meanings. Here Hayon dispenses with cultural formalities to create a series of all-white lanterns. Handmade with rice paper fusion of various sizes and shapes together.
