These stylish rustic journals from Nkuku are beautifully handmade using untreated leather, dyed with vegetable extract and tree bark. Artisans use age old techniques to create these journal covers, each piece is the handiwork of one artisan from start to finish. These hard wearing leather covered journals are ideal to slip into a rucksack, laptop case or handbag for work. The Journals are filled with beautiful handmade paper, created from pieces of recycled cotton rag. This ancient paper making skill has been passed on through generations. Cotton paper has the additional benefit of being tree free as no wood pulp is used. Each sheet is painstakingly made by hand and dried by the sun before being bound in leather and carefully hand stitched.
