This multicoloured square handcrafted telephone wire bowl has been intricately hand woven in South Africa. This modern twist on traditional grass and palm leaf basket weaving was started by Zulu men in Johannesburg, they used left over pieces of telephone wire to create baskets and then sold them to generate additional income. Telephone wire proved to be the perfect material for weaving as it is incredibly maleable and can be found in many different colours. Perfect for throwing your loose 'bits and bobs' into in the office or home and ideal for food display/storage as they are 100% wipeable and food safe as the telephone copper wires are coated in PVC. No two pieces are the same. Designs may vary, making each individual piece that much more unique.
