This novel by Patience McELwee was never published and this is labelled as the author's copy, so must be extremely rare, if not unique. There is no dust jacket but a folded mock up inside the front cover board. Produced in 1954 and in very good condition. The following is from the introduction: "WINTERSWEET is a love story. On the contrary, the engagement of Frances to Robin, her young son's tutor, and the engagement of Jock, her brother-in-law, to Shirley Abbott, was to each of them only a stage of a difficult journey.
