This lovely and blue vintage book is a 1946 edition of Wind and Weather Permitting by Prudence Hill! Three lucky youngsters are left on their own in their holiday house by the sea when their parents are unexpectedly called away - Sally aged sixteen, Michael fifteen, and Pat twelve. For a few days they do as they like, sailing, and swimming, exploring, by land and sea, and eating and sleeping as and when opportunities come their way. The surroundings are ideal - creeks and marshes, teeming with wildlife, and the sea beyond. Adventures come to them from the outset, even ashore, open with a cow stuck in the mud, another with an adder, and again when a high spring tide floods the house and garden. Good condition for its age, no signs of major damage aside from general wear and tear to the sleeve (please see photos).
