Near the north-eastern border of Zambia lies the Luangwa Valley, twice the size of Wales it supports one of the greatest concentrations of wildlife to be found anywhere in the world. Norman Carr lived and worked in the valley for forty years. The first part of the book introduces the reader to the Valley as an ecological unit, next the author takes the reader through the months of the year, pointing to climatic changes and the varying patterns of animal behaviour adapting to seasonal changes in vegetation. Finally he guides the reader on a walking safari. Very minor wear to the edges of the dust jacket, otherwise the book is in excellent condition throughout.
