The only currently available copies of this book appear to be in America, offered at more than £1900. It contains writings, statements & interviews by artists to be included in an exhibition 'Towards Another Picture'. Although not all of them were eventually included, the editors of this book felt the collected writings were nonetheless of value in showing the uses of art in post-war Britain. Included are pieces by artists not normally included in contemporary surveys of British art, and the anthology is arranged in a way to display the material in the most revealing context. Andrew Brighton was formerly Senior Curator: Public Events at Tate Modern and has taught at the Royal College of Art, GoldsmithsCollege and the London Consortium. He curated the exhibition Towards Another Picture (1977) with Lynda Morris.
