You can grow your delicious grapes in the UK, which are so sweet that can be eaten fresh or used in desserts. Grape 'Boskoop Glory' is an old, extremely reliable variety of black grape, which is very hardy and a reliable cropper. Vines are easy to grow, early ripening and disease resistant, which means bumper crops of tasty grapes. Grow grape vines over pergolas, where they are very attractive, with big fancy green foliage that turns to striking autumn colour; coral, scarlet and purple. Choose a sunny position in any well drained soilsouth-facing position against a wall is ideal. Sturdy support is required for the twining stems. Before planting, prepare a framework of wires stretched horizontally between two sturdy 1.8m posts or attached to a warm wall and incorporate plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the soil.
