With its striking red plumes, it’s easy to see where Salvia ‘Blaze of Fire’ gets its name and also why it’s one of the most famous bedding plants. With an extended flowering period, these salvias offer exceptional value for money. Working equally well in beds, borders and containers their versatility only adds to their appeal. Pot up salvia plants into pots of free-draining compost, and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant salvias outdoors in moist, well drained soil, and situated in full sun. Salvia requires little aftercare except for regular watering and an occasional feed.
