Bisset’s Bamboo is a green-caned variety that makes a superb focal point for the garden. Plants lend an evergreen tropical feel to planting schemes, with narrow leaves that cloak the upright canes and retain a fresh appearance even in the depths of winter. This stately Bamboo is particularly hardy and wind tolerant, making fabulous screening. Your plants will produce dense clumps of canes in their formative years before gradually spreading to create large stands of canes. Height: 5m (16'). Spread: 3m (10'). When growing Bisset's Bamboo in pots, choose a soil-based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Repot the plant, firming well into the new container, then water well and position in full sun or semi shade. Alternatively plant Bamboos directly into borders in any moist, free draining soil. Bamboos dislike poor, dry soils. If your soil is particularly free draining, improve it by adding plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost prior to planting. Choose a sheltered position that
