Oxalis Versicolor is a half hardy alpine with fascinating buds that look like candy canes. In the last summer and autumn, the flowers open to reveal cupped white petals with bright raspberry margins. This variety is a delicate spreading perennial that make captivating specimens for a frost-free greenhouse or conservatory. In particularly mild and sheltered sites they may to grown outdoors in rock garden or alpine troughs but should be always protected from frost. Height: 10cm (4”). Spread: 20cm (8”). Outdoors, grow oxalis plants in containers or in sheltered rockeries and borders. In frost prone areas it is best grown as a houseplant on a bright windowsill or in a conservatory or greenhouse. Plant Oxalis corms at a depth of 3cm (1”) in well drained, rich fertile soil, or for indoor cultivation, in a loam-based compost such as John Innes No.2. Position in full sun or light shade. After flowering, allow the foliage to die back naturally before removing it. Oxalis bulbs req
