Awarded an RHS Award of Garden Merit for its garden performance, Nigella 'Miss Jekyll' is easy to grow, bearing beautiful rich blue flowers that almost float amongst the finely cut foliage. Love-In-A-Mist is very useful as a bedding plant, providing a charming show of blooms during the summer months. The flowers are lovely for cutting and the seed pods can be dried for winter decorations indoors. Enjoy the flowers from June to August. Culinary note: the seeds have a strong aroma and spicy taste, they can be used as a condiment or spice to flavour cakes, breads and curries. Sow early spring to early summer outdoors where they are to flower. Prepare the ground well and rake to a fine tilth before sowing. Sow 3mm (1/8in) deep in rows 30cm (12in) apart.
