This showy shrub bears a profusion of pendulous blooms that drip from the branch tips from June right through to September. The white flowers emerge from burgundy bracts creating a truly opulent display. Later in the season, the flowers are replaced by juicy purple berries that are loved by birds. Leycesteria formosa 'Purple Rain' has an upright habit with gently arching stem tips that forms a most attractive shrub. This handsome deciduous shrub is ideal for wildlife areas, woodland edges, cottage gardens, and even looks at home among exotic planting schemes. Grow in well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Plants will tolerate a wide range of soils, from sand to chalk and clay, and can be remarkably drought tolerant. Prune back hard each spring to keep plants within their available space and encourage new, colourful growth. Position: Full Sun or Partial Shade, Height: Up to 2m. Spread: Up to 2m. Supplied in a 3.6 Litre Nursery Pot, Delivered with growing and care instructions Images
