Munstead' is a neat, compact variety of English lavender, bearing masses of the dark purple-blue flower spikes that you love. The blooms look good and do good, as the nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees. Lavender plants make an excellent low hedge or path edging, where you can appreciate their perfume as you brush past the aromatic evergreen foliage. The scented stems of 'Munstead' are ideal for cutting or drying too! Pot up plants using free draining compost, and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. Once they are well grown, acclimatise English lavender plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before planting out on free draining soil in full sun. Lavender’s dislike wet ground, particularly during winter. Water regularly throughout summer until lavender plants are fully established. Once established, they are reasonably drought tolerant.
