Hyacinth Gypsy Queen is the perfect variety to add to your garden if you are after colour, producing beautiful apricot-salmon blooms. These hyacinths give a sheltered spring border a glimpse of the oriental with their rising towers of flowers. This variety of hyacinths are destined for pride of place in your garden year after year weather they are planted straight into the garden borders or pots where they will create a beautiful display. Grow hyacinths in moist, fertile well drained soil in sun or semi shade. Plant hyacinth bulbs approximately 10cm (4") deep and at a distance of 8cm (3") apart. To grow hyacinths for indoor displays, plant them in containers of bulb fibre or potting compost with the tip of the bulb just visible above the soil surface. Position them in a cool garage or other well ventilated, dark position at a maximum temperature of 7°C (44°F) for around 6 weeks. Water bulbs only when necessary in order to keep the compost moist.
