English Yew (Taxus baccata) is a fantastic choice for hedging, providing a dense evergreen screen of emerald green needle-like foliage for year-round screening and privacy as well as helping to filter noise pollution from nearby roads. Whether you have a large boundary area or a small garden, Yew is happy to be pruned to the shape and size required and can grow into a very large hedge if needed. Not only does the foliage look good all year round, but it produces attractive red berries in autumn which helps to feed hungry wild birds through the colder months. This native variety has an RHS AGM and is tough, reliable, easy to grow and unfussy, tolerating shade, sun or dry conditions. The incredibly dense habit and small foliage makes this a great choice for use as topiary as well as a uniform, boxy hedge. Supplied as 30 - 45cm bareroots. Planting Distance: 30 - 45 cm (12" - 18" or 4 plants per metre for a single line hedge. Grow Yew trees in any well drained, fertile soil. Taxus is versa
