Beech has long been a popular choice for hedging, producing a thick, screen which can be pruned or clipped to the shape and size required. (4 plants per metre for a single line hedge). Plant beech hedging in fertile, well drained soil. Fagus hedging is suitable for positions in full sun or partial shade. Plants will tolerate a wide range of soils, from sand to chalk and clay, and areas of pollution. Plant bare root hed
