Great for home growing in the UK, Garlic ‘Solent Wight’ is a much-loved variety popular for its high quality – it’s even received an Award of Garden Merit from the RHS! Ready to plant in late winter, you’ll be harvesting large, mature bulbs of ‘Solent Wight’ in July that same year. Bred on the Isle of Wight, this variety is used to the UK’s variable weather conditions, is easy to grow and develops delicious, softneck, top quality bulbs packed with fat, flavoursome cloves. Store your Allium sativum in a cool, dry spot and the bulbs will keep for months! Height: 30cm (12").Plant garlic in rows in any well drained soil in full sun. It is important that the soil does not become waterlogged so incorporate plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost to improve drainage and feed the soil. On particularly heavy soils, plant garlic in raised beds. Carefully split the bulb into individual cloves. Plant each clove at a depth of 2cm (1") below the surface
