Foxglove ‘Silver Cub’ is a hardy biennial that is popular for its elegant flower spikes which can grow up to 60cm tall making it ideal for the back of a shady garden border. This variety produces white blooms with speckled centres from May onwards. Ideal for cottage / wildlife / woodland and cut flower gardens - attractive to pollinating insects. Sow Foxglove seeds from January to May on the surface of good seed compost, and cover with a light sprinkling of compost of vermiculite. Place in a propagator at a temperature of 18-25C (64-77F) or seal the seed tray inside a polythene bag until after germination, which usually takes 14-30 days. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged and do not exclude light, as this helps germination. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 7.5cm (3") pots and grow on in cooler conditions. When Digitalis plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions for
