Dianthus deltoides 'Arctic Fire' produces dwarf plants that are covered in delicate white flowers. The white flowers are serrated and have a vibrant red eye. Flowers for a long period making this variety a great choice for ground cover or even rockeries. Sow February to June or September to October. Sow seed on the surface of a good, free-draining, damp, seed or multipurpose compost, then cover the seed with a very light sprinkling of vermiculite. Place container in a propagator or seal inside a polythene bag and place at 15-20C (59-68F). Germination usually takes 14-30 days. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination. Overwinter September sowings in a coldframe and plant out the following spring.
