Low maintenance and fussy free Chamaecyparis ‘Baby Blue’, also known as Sawara Cypress’, is compact and extremely hardy, making it the perfect, easy-care staple for the garden. Providing year-round interest with its silver-blue foliage on attractive arching branches, this compact and slow-growing evergreen dwarf conifer is perfectly suited to growing in borders or patio pots where it will combine well with virtually any other conifer types or flowering plants. Grow Cypress trees in moist, well drained soil. Chamaecyparis prefers a neutral or acid soil but does tolerate chalky soils well. Choose a position in full sun. Once established, Cypress trees require virtually no maintenance. When grown as a hedge, prune Chamaecyparis at any time between late spring and early autumn, taking care not to prune into older wood.
