Excellent for adding a bygone touch and creating cottage garden planting schemes. Sow in late spring/early summer outdoors in a well-prepared seed bed. Sow the seeds very thinly in drills 6mm (0.25in) deep, 15cm (6in) apart. Transplant the seedlings before they become crowded 15cm (6in) apart into a reserve border for the summer. Plant out 38cm (15in) apart where they are to flower.
